How do you Holiday?

As I haven't had time to look at (much less edit!) pictures from the parade though I promise they're coming, I figured I better find something else quickly to post about today. Since the holidays are weighing heavily on my mind, I thought I'd share that this month's BasicGrey Newsletter is all about "How do you holiday?" It features our new holiday line, Wassail, along with some awesome designers contributing to our sketch column this month - all with their own winter/holiday flair. I hope you'll take a minute to check it out and that it leaves you a bit inspired.

This layout is the one I did for the intro section and it's one of my favorites. It just evokes such a warm and happy feeling in my heart and is truly a holiday memory and tradition that I treasure.

I hope you are all feeling more organized than me, that you have your holiday shopping done and that Santa brings you your fondest wish.

OH! And p.s. I promise to be back with a vengence next week - It'll be good, I promise....AND there just might be a few things to fill your stocking as well. Just sayin'.

XO,
k.

This is a beautiful layout! Of course, it's in reds and those are my FAVORITES, so that certainly helps! LOL! I can't wait to see what you have in store!

Your photos are always always to die for!! And you certainly do them justice with your beautiful layouts. I can't get my kids to stay still for quality photos very often! Oh well, the blur is standard!

I love your pic. Did you print a B&W and a color photo and do a little cut and paste? I'm just curious how you got the cookies to be in color. Love that idea. (PS-I jsut bought the entire Christmas line-and I can't wait to scrap with it)

Kelly,
I saw this in the newsletter - that little guy gets me to smile every time I see him. He's just so cute! Beautiful as always.

Oh and Shara - of course I can't speak for Kelly, but I assume it's a photo editing thing with the color in the black and white photo. It's not hard to do in PSE. I do this in Elements sometimes. You could start with a colored photo, create a duplicate layer (call it background) and work with this layer. Go to image, magic extractor, click on foreground color brush tool to hilite the items you want to remain in the layer, and click on background color brush tool to erase the parts you don't want to appear. I always preview before I click OK to make sure it's taken out everything I want. Then after you click OK you have a layer with just the object in it that you want to appear in color. Then go to the original layer and go to Enhance, Convert to black and white. Elements just does this automatically. Voila! HTH
