Happy Cinco de Mayo! (and FREE STUFF!)

***********CONTEST NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU!***********
She lives, she lives! I feel like I've been buried under so many things going on that I've hardly come up for air...or the Derby or National Scrapbooking Day (NSD)! What is wrong with me? Well I tell you, I was crazy busy teaching classes with my friend Becky Fleck at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara! For all of you who came out to join us, thank you so much! We really enjoyed having you and hope you loved your projects!

But since I missed NSD and it's already Cinco de Mayo, I thought I'd do a little giveaway to celebrate BOTH in one crazy post! I am giving away all three sets of BasicGrey stamps from the Lime Rickey line (including those stinkin' cute birds!) to one lucky winner! All you have to do is leave me a little note telling me what you did for NSD or how you're planning on celebrating Cinco de Mayo and you'll be entered to win! I'll leave this up just until tomorrow, May 6th at 11:59 pm eastern so hurry, hurry!

And in celebration of a little scrapping (and trying to be AHEAD for Mother's Day!), our BasicGrey newsletter will hit your in box today and here are a couple of my pages featured within. The first is for the intro section on Mother's Day and features Wisteria. As crazy as my boys can make me, their hugs are by far some of the best parts of being the mama!

Photobucket
Supplies: BasicGrey Wisteria Collection Pack, chip sticker shapes, element stickers, and Piper milk chocolate Micro Chip Sticker ABC's
Other: cardstock, chalk ink, brown journaling pen

And one more...this one is based on the monthly sketch by the incredible Becky Fleck and features Lime Rickey. Lime Rickey is the newest release for us at BasicGrey and is hitting your stores NOW! Be sure to get yourself some of it - it's so fun, bright and colorful - perfect for pages like this! (And I have to tell you, my son wasn't thrilled with me at this title! ha! But I tell him all about truth in scrapbooking ;)) This is my Ethan giving me a few jumping shots at our last photo shoot! Jumping ability set aside, he's a cutie anyway!

Photobucket
Supplies: BasicGrey Lime Rickey Collection Pack, brads
Other: cardstock, chalk ink, black journaling pen, circle punch, anywhere punch

(The anywhere punch is what I used to do the jumping path. It was a lot of fun!)

I also wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to my friend Lisa Dickinson for contributing to the sketch portion of our newletter this month. She rocked her sketch and I loved having her be a part!

So that's it from me today! More to come soon (I think! :)) Have a wonderful Cinco de Mayo and don't forget to comment to win!

***********CONTEST NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU!***********

xoxo,
k.

WOW! Time is sure flying by this year, hasn't it? Well, I didn't get to do much ON NSD, but I planned ahead the week before and got some pages done! WOO HOO! Cinco de Mayo though won't be celebrated till Saturday - when I plan on making Chicken Tortilla Soup - YUMMY! Then it's Mommy's Day on Sunday! What a week! Hope you have a great day!

Unfortunately, I didn't get as much scrapping done on NSD as I would've liked. I got one page done, while the baby was sleeping. I do plan on doing more this week, so I'll count that as part of my NSD scrapping. ;) I don't have any big plans for Cinco de Mayo, but my daughter is having a Fiesta at school, so that will be fun for them!
I'm always up for winning some stamps!

I'm going to have a pretty uneventful Cinco de Mayo - I'm studying for a final exam! What I'd really like to do is work on a layout I've had in my head, but I had to prioritize. :)

Cool stamps and great work that you've posted.

NSB Day I was busy with regular life stuff like my boys baseball games and such. But I did manage to squeeze in some scrapping with my one son as we worked on a school project. I also got to make some Mother's Day cards.

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo last night (we won't all be together tonight) by making Tomale Pie. One of our favs!

Thanks for the opportunity!

Well since we are basically quarantined down here because of all the swine flu stuff the kids and I stayed home and for NSD we made Mother's Day cards for the grandmas. The boys were so happy to get to play with all my pretty papers and punches and stamps. They made some pretty interesting cards I will say so myself. :)

As for Cinco de Mayo, I would love to run out to a little Tex Mex resturant tonight and get a big old margarita but I am thinking we will probably stay home and make shaved ice!!

I was on the soccer field, which I know you know all about. Sometimes I feel a bit of bitterness about this, because EVERY year I have some obligation that involves children and their sports activites, but I tell myself, it is not this way FOREVER, and when it is not, I will miss it. More than I wish I was doing something for NSB Day.

Gorgeous LOs, as always! I LOVE the Lime Rickey line. What did I do for NSD? I went to my son's soccer game and my daughter's TaeKwonDo school fundraiser. Hubby was out of town, so I didn't have much scrappy time, but I did stay up and finish a couple LOs. For cinco de mayo, I'm thinking I'll cook some tacos. (I know - "woohoo!:, she says sarcastically.) It's a shame, b/c we live in Texas and there are tons of great Mexican places in town, but my kids don't like Mexican except for the tortillas. *sigh*

what darling pages you made!! I love the colors on the top one - they're more unusual combined like that and it really highlights the photo!

On NSD I spent time scrapping with my 'homeygirlz' and we made a trip to the local scrapbook store in two carloads...it was sunny on the way there. However, I live in Seattle...where it could be sunny at one end of the parking lot, and raining at the other end. By the time we sat down for some fun makentakes at the store, it had been pouring rain...and my sunroof was open on my new car. The seats were like little lakes full of water :( Luckily they had towels at the scrapbook store... such are the perils of living in Seattle and trying to have fun with the girlz on NSD!!

For NSD I had a couple online crops to attend.. Funny though, I mostly read and only did a couple challenges. Today, we just hung out at the house, took the DGS's to karate and went to visit DBIL.

I enjoyed cropping with friends at Kim's Scrap 'N Crop in Denton, Tx. We had a 14 hour crop with a delicious lunch and dinner provided by the owner plus wonderful goody bags and door prizes. While it rained off and on all day we were warm, safe, and happily creating away. When it was time to leave at midnight, the rain clouds blew away and we journeyed back to Fort Worth relishing newly made memories. LeAnn

Kelly,

I am daydreaming about BG Lime Rickey right now. No LSS so I am waiting for my twopeas order to arrive...

For NSD my daughter and I hung out and stamped and stamped and punched out butterflies and stamped some more. I made oodles of cards and even 1 LO after she went to bed. It was a good day but I miss my ultimate scrap buddy...my sister. She's in KY too. Have a good day!

Kelly, your LOs in the BG newsletter are simply stunning. I just HAD to pop by and tell you that...gorgeous, gorgeous work.

NSD is a bit of a non-event here in Australia (at least where I live anyway) but I managed to make a couple of Mothers Day cards, so that made me happy :)

Thanks for the chance to win xxx

Unfortunately, I did not get any scrapping done on NSD due to the fact that I am in the process of remodeling my scrap room and it is taking way too long :( I did go to a fun Derby party though! Love your layouts and would love to give those stamps a good home!

It's a travesty but I did no scrapbooking on NSD! ironically it was the first weekend in so long that I haven't. I decided to try and upload my LO's for the first time but couldn't get it to work (files too big and no idea what to do with them!) Anyway, I ended up adding photos to my facebook page for the first time (managed that!).
Love the stamps :)

On NSD I spent a good part of the day attempting to get my photos organized and backed up (lol spent most of the day doing it, got lots done.. but still have TONS to do!!!) I made one card during the day, but that was the extent of anything to do with paper for the day!!

To celebrate NSD, I posted a challenge on the forum where I'm at DT member. And for Cinco de Mayo, I made my family chicken quesadillas and salsa for dinner! It'd been raining forever here too ;)

Thanks for the chance to win. I spent NSD in my craft room but my Mojo seems to have departed as it took me all day to make 2 decidedly average cards!

For NSD weekend (I didn't get to scrap on Saturday) I did some digital scrapbooking and caught up on my Project 365 album. It was nice to have the excuse to take the time to do it. :-)

Hiya :) I spent NSD NOT scrapbooking (isn't it called No Scrapbooking Day? :), as my dad and stepmom were visiting and I was working... But I have good intentions of scrapping on Mother's Day, with the new Lime Rickey and Wisteria I just received in the mail! xoxo Lisa

What HAPPY stamps! Love the birds. I just picked up some Lime Ricky paper and buttons at my LSS, these stamps would be a perfect addition. For NSD, I caught up a little bit with my journaling for Project 365. It wasn't creating with paper and embellishments, but it still counts!!!! :) Thanks for the chance to win!
