BasicGrey CHA Summer '09 Releases!

It's here, it's here! Today is the opening of the Craft & Hobby Association Trade show which means I can FINALLY share some of what BasicGrey has coming your way!

I have to start with my favorite of all the lines (I've been waiting a LONG time for us to do something like it!), here is BasicGrey's first ever HALLOWEEN line. This is EERIE! Eerie is DOUBLE-SIDED and features some cool new products - awesome epoxy stickers and our 3-d pops with glitter and bling....and seriously, HOW cute are those skulls for Trick-or-Treat favors?! I'm all about those! Not to mention this lines comes with some fantastic laser cut cardstock sheets (Doilies) AND some wicked designer bling that range from spiders to cobwebs and so much more!

Eerie

Here are a few of my samples using Eerie:

How about a little Eskimo Kisses? (I adore the name of this line!) I have to admit, I don't scrap the Holidays unless I'm forced to. I just can never seem to get into it, but these papers are the first in a while that really made me want to find those cruddy pictures from Christmas morning and get them in an album! ;) Again, like some of our Holiday lines in the past, Eskimo Kisses is again DOUBLE-SIDED and comes with a variety of new products like Eerie - including the Pops, Epoxy stickers, these precious little favor boxes and so much more.

Eskimo Kisses

I just have to pop in there to talk about this product! This is new for us and will be coming out in both Eskimo Kisses and the Nook & Pantry Line. They're called "Stitched Brads" and are basically tapestry on a larger (1/2" or so) brad. They are totally divine! Just look at these designs!

Here are a couple of samples using Eskimo Kisses:

Believe it or not, this precious, vintage-inspired line was my favorite non-themed release. This is NOOK & PANTRY! I loved how the patterns went together on this line, how incredibly versatile it was (boys, girls, birthday, everyday) and that once again, we're doing a DOUBLE-SIDED line! (And seriously - those cupcake favor boxes? Could they BE any cuter? (read that as I was Chandler Bing speaking! ha!!))

Nook & Pantry

Here are my samples using Nook & Pantry. (See what I mean about it being so versatile? Love this line!):

And a little mini recipe album:

And finally a little Indian Summer! I love love love the colors in this line. LOVE them. They are rich and bold and absolutely perfect for fall or anything where you want a little drama! And the Element Stickers in this line? I am completely in love!

Indian Summer

These are my samples using Indian Summer. I want to frame the first one to use as wall our in our entry way. I love the "home-y" feel of it!

And a little mini album celebrating my love of fall!

I hope you have enjoyed this peek and it's been worth waiting for! Stay tuned tomorrow - I'll be back with a few final products to share along with the one that has been "my baby" the past couple years. I can't wait to share it with you but I think it deserves a post all it's own! (hee!)

Have a fantastic day!

In the meantime....

Well as always I get a day ahead of myself (or a day behind sometimes too - oy!) and I have realized CHA does not officially open until tomorrow (thanks, Melanie!) so sadly my peeks have to wait until then. Dang.

HOWEVER....I do have the winner of my Random Prize giveaway to announce (so at least I'll make HER day!) and one more interim share until I flood you with things tomorrow.

Congratulations to Aracelis Nass! Whoooo hoooo! Please email me at kelly.goree@gmail.com to claim your prize! :)

And finally for a little share...a layout of sweet little Anna. Some of you might remember Anna from a baby album I did a year or so ago. Well she's all grown up now and a new big sister I might add. I just adored this picture her mama, Shelby, sent to me and had to scrap it! (Can you blame me?!) I'm not sure where Shelby got that hat, but I'll put an email in to her to ask because I know you all will want to know. (Haa!)

This layout features BasicGrey's Lemonade line and an awesome Becky Fleck sketch from Page Maps. How I adore that girl's sketches. They make my life so much easier some days and gives me the chance to just have fun with the paper and pictures. LOVE that!

Supplies: BasicGrey Lemonade papers, Element stickers, Pops and brads

Until tomorrow, have a happy Monday, all!

It's starting...

And not to take away from my earlier post, but I just HAVE to put this up....SO excited! :D How about a little "Indian Summer", everyone?!

This one's for you, Peg! **Contest now CLOSED**

**************CONTEST NOW CLOSED & WINNER ANNOUNCED! THANK YOU!**************

Ahem. So. It's come to my attention from a gal who shall remain nameless (see post title, Peg ;)) that I have been sorely neglecting this old blog and haven't shared things in quite some time. Sadly this happens every year in the summer and especially at CHA time, but I'm going to try and make it up to you just a little today! And I promise if you stick with me until the end, there WILL be a reward!

Ok, first we have a couple of pages from BasicGrey's July Newsletter. This first one was done to celebrate BasicGrey's 5th Anniversary! Five Years! I can hardly believe it! It's been quite a ride, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! I'm so proud of this company and how it's grown since it's debut at HIA in Atlanta 5 years ago! This was Carson on his 5th Birthday last August and our new June Bug line. For those of you interested in the large "5", I printed it in reverse onto our designer cardstock and then cut out. I made the 5 as large as I wanted in Adobe Photoshop. (I use 6.0.)

Supplies: BasicGrey June Bug paper, alphabet stickers, element stickers, rub-ons, designer cardstock
Other: chalk ink, black journaling pen

This layout was based on this awesome sketch by Becky Fleck for our monthly column. I particularly liked the frame element of the sketch and it immediately brought to mind this picture i wanted to scrap of Turner and his Art work. The scalloped portion of the frame was hand-cut and the rest of the design again uses the June Bug line. I played around with some of our new Doilies (where the eyelets are) and I raised the entire center portion on foam adhesive to give it some extra dimension.

Supplies: BasicGrey June Bug papers, chip sticker shapes, rub-ons, buttons, alphabet stickers, Doilies, designer cardstock
Other: dimensional adhesive, black journaling pen, chalk ink, eyelets, floss

And finally here's a layout I did for Tessa Ann Watte - I adore this girl and her go get 'em attitude! She's a real inspiration to me and I had such a fun time working with some of her precious buttons as her guest designer this month. Please if you get a chance, check out her site and get some! She's putting up all kinds of new fall designs that have me drooling (but leave the school ones for me - they have my name all over them ;))

Supplies: Tessa Ann Buttons, WeR Memory Keepers Paper (Tiffany line), Doodlebug alphabet stickers, Uniball Pen

And for sticking with me so far this summer and in celebration of upcoming CHA, I'm going to do a summer grab bag giveaway - you never know what might be coming your way, but it'll be good, I promise! Just leave me a comment between now and Sunday night - July 26th at 11:59 pm Eastern - to be entered to win!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

The debut launch was yesterday, but they are celebrating all week long! Hero is a fantastic company with incredible stamping products. Please stop by here and show them some love! You'll be glad you did - plus you might get in for some fab giveaways!

Paper Piecing with Punches

Good morning, all!

Today I just wanted to post a little paper piecing card I did with Fiskars tools, yummy BasicGrey Lemonade paper and a few adorable Tessa Ann buttons. It's part of Fiskars' summer school program and it went live on the Fiskars site here this morning. If you visit the site, it even includes full instructions with step out photos as I'm making the card.

Here is my intro to the class. I hope it inspires you to visit Fiskars and play along with us!

********************************
I have always liked scrapbooking. Ok, maybe not always, but it sure seems that way. I've collected bits and pieces of ephemera as long as I can remember and have true "scrap" books since early high school. But it is only recently that I have discovered a love of card making. For the longest time it was hard for me to convert my passion for scrapbooking to other paper crafting forms, but once I figured out that card making was almost like scrapbooking in miniature, a new love of mine was born! I especially like to do paper piecing on my cards. I love the playful, funky look it can give and the fun I have doing it.

Have a wonderful summer Tuesday!

Happy Belated 4th!

Good morning, all!

I hope all my US friends had a wonderful, safe and dry (because ours wasn't!) 4th of July! We attended the annual party of some good friends of ours and had a fabulous time, rain not withstanding.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day...

The gorgeous family in red are the Prehers. Amy and I have known each other since we were freshman in high school. Now her son is that age. Uh, yeah. I'm in denial! The cutie with his dad is Jackson. I've known Jackson's mom since she was 3...again, not helping!

These are my hot friends, Ange and Stacy. Stacy is REALLY hot like a firecracker. Her t-shirt says so and while I have the proof, I am electing not to share it here because a- Stace would kill me and b - I'm paying it forward! Nuff said ;)

These cuties are Joanna and Olivia. They go to school with Ethan and are good friends. They very sweetly asked me to take their picture...because they wanted to be in a magazine! Hee! It was getting really late by the time I took this, but I tried, girls. We'll see how it goes!
Here is one of the few I got of my own kids - this is Turner getting some of his 4th of July goodies 9like the necklace...and a tatoo..and a whistle..and tons of gum!) and Miss Sara. Sara was in Carson's preschool class and he just loves her.
Then it was time for fireworks. The kids got started with more sparklers than you can count while the big people went down the hill to set up the larger displays. Don't worry...Scott's a fireman so we were plenty safe with buckets of water everywhere for used sparklers and in case of a spark...not that the rain wouldn't have taken care of it but that's another story.
This is Isabella. I loved watching her face with the sparklers and then I caught this really cool blue light as she was waving it. I have NO idea how I did it and will most likely never be able to replicate it, but I thought it was soooo darn cool! And then finally it was time for some fireworks. I only got a few good shots as the rain really started to come down then, but they were gorgeous. Thanks again to Scott and Amy for a fantastic party and we're already looking forward to NEXT year!

This week is a busy work week for me and then I head out of town to Hotlanta on Thursday but I'll be back with some shares as soon as I can!

Have a wonderful Monday!
