HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY (and Derby Day, too!)

Hello and HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY, everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying this gorgeous day and are finding time to create and do what you love! Here in Kentucky, NSD also means it’s Kentucky Derby Day so besides sharing here with you, I’ll be spending my time watching the races with some good friends and eating (and maybe even drinking) wonderful things. Hey, a celebration is a celebration!

There are so many amazing activities around the web (and hopefully at some of your local stores too) to celebrate NSD and so much inspiration to be found, but I truly hope that you'll stop by and join me and the rest of the team at Scrapbook & Cards Today! I can assure you that they will keep you inspired and loaded with prizes all. day. long!

Of course to celebrate such a special day, I had to create a little something new to share. I had many ideas in my head – but decided to keep it simple and focus on a few of my very favorite things (I bet you can even name them with me!) - PageMaps sketches, BasicGrey paper and my Silhouette Cameo. Trust me when I say you can’t go wrong with any of these but when you add them all up, you get an easy recipe for beautiful pages and tons of fun.

Cool Dude by Kelly Goree
Supply List: Bazzill Basics cardstock; BasicGrey patterned paper, epoxy dots, stickers, alpha stickers; Simple Stories brads; Fiskars star punches; Ellison/Sizzixs circle die; Silhouette electronic cutting machine; Scrapbook adhesives by 3L and Xyron adhesive; Pentel pen; Sharpie markers; Cut Files by Nicole Nowosad for Scrapbook & Cards Today; Sketch by Becky Fleck of PageMaps for Scrapbook & Cards Today

For this layout, I first picked one of the bonus sketches from the PageMaps article in the Summer 2013 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. I always love good sketches and this one was a favorite of mine – in fact I’ve even used it a time or two before. This time, however I decided to stretch the 8.5x11 format into a 12x12 because I wanted to play around with the background and wanted all the space I could get.

Then I figured I HAD to use these amazing new and FREE cut files from Nicole Nowosad for SCT because, HELLO – they are all about BOYS!! I loved the brush script words and stars in this set and decided I was going to try my hand at making my own background paper with them. I separated Nic’s files and arranged them on my background the way I liked. I really wanted them to POP so I cut them out of a bright patterned paper and then backed them with solid black cardstock.

The BasicGrey HIGHLINE line was absolutely amazing for these files. I adore the vivid colors in the collection and they had just the right vibe and feel to go with the cut files.

And while we’re on the topic of my favorite things – I absolutely LOVE adding pink to my boy pages. I don’t get to use it near enough and I think it can be masculine, too, when used in the right way!

I hope that this fun page has inspired you a bit and that you have an amazing day FULL of creating! And please, share what you make! I’d love to see it!

xoxo,
Kelly

Movie Orca unquestionably belongs to this exclusive category, inviting us on an exhilarating expedition through the realms of nature, survival, and vengeance. Debuting in 1977, this legendary film not only captivated audiences but also served as a poignant reminder of the commanding presence of the ocean’s ultimate predator, the killer whale Movie
